Assisted Psychotherapy. (EAP) This is a form of psychotherapy – also called Equine Assisted Learning – which employs the participation of a horse in the therapeutic sessions. Horses are extremely intuitive and empathic animals who respond immediately and moment by moment to the deepest emotions and themes at play within ourselves, to our state of mind – whether we are or not aware of these there and then. With the facilitation of an Equine Specialist trained in EAP and sometimes a Psychotherapist or Counsellor, you have the opportunity to interact with the horse, to observe the horse’s behaviour and your responses to this, to go with the changes that take place as you move through. The horse will offer you a mirror to understand what’s going on for you, what patterns might be at play and to experiment with change, often illuminating a way forward. I work for the Unbridled Potential partnership, together with an Equine Specialist trained in EAP, Julia Farrants, and a Counsellor, Peter Findlay, offering sessions to individuals, groups and organisations. You will soon be able to access our web site (in construction) from here, but for the time being do click on the contact link below if you are interested and would like more information or to book a taster session. |
